Customer Talent with Mineral Forest Fabrics

April 8, 2014

I have been having a lovely rapport with an Etsy customer who lives in France.  She ordered a set of custom sized runners, and I sent along the fabric ends that I couldn’t use so she could create something for herself.  She just sent me this photo of a beautiful scarf she made.  Thank you, Sylvie!

Quilled, not Quilted

January 29, 2014

I have discovered the art of Quilling, and for the last two weeks, have worked with my son’s 4th grade class to make this quilled eagle.  We all twirled hundreds of small strips of paper then glued them into an eagle shape inspired by the designs of the native Haida Tribe.  Many hours, many hands.

September 3, 2013

kyototea08full

Take a look at this week’s Designer Spotlight on Bolt Fabric Boutique’s Blog to catch their interview with me.  If you live in the Portland area and haven’t had a chance to check out their store, I highly recommend it.  Gina Cadenasso has a great eye and stocks her gem of a shop with cutting edge prints.

  • 2022 Graduation Quilts

My Graduation Quilt Project hit its pinnacle this year with the largest number of graduates in a single year, one of which included my son, Lee.

  • Ted’s Atrium

Perhaps because there are several architects in my own family, or perhaps because I find architecture’s intersection between art and design so compelling, I experienced a sense of excited nervousness at the outset of this memorial quilt project.

  • Roy’s Light

During my initial conversation with clients, the first thing I ask is for them to share a little bit about their loved one who died.
