My Favorite Animal Cards

June 23, 2015

partridge

I have been collecting notecards ever since I can remember. I have shoeboxes full. I was going through them the other day and realized that over half of them contained renderings of animals – hand calligraphy, paper cutouts, etchings, watercolors, and more. I love cards because they are concise sources of inspiration. Read more >

April 21, 2015

The sun is out here in Portland, and Spring is in full swing. The designs for my next fabric collection are due into Andover Fabrics in the upcoming week, and I’m excited to see this group of ideas come to fruition. The concept for this line took root a year and a half ago when I traveled to rural North Carolina to visit an old friend on her farm. Read more >

From Lori’s Notebook

  • 2022 Graduation Quilts

My Graduation Quilt Project hit its pinnacle this year with the largest number of graduates in a single year, one of which included my son, Lee.

  • Ted’s Atrium

Perhaps because there are several architects in my own family, or perhaps because I find architecture’s intersection between art and design so compelling, I experienced a sense of excited nervousness at the outset of this memorial quilt project.

  • Roy’s Light

During my initial conversation with clients, the first thing I ask is for them to share a little bit about their loved one who died.
