What is Honey Mama’s?

March 16, 2015

One month ago, I did not know the answer to the question, and now I do, and I want to spread the word to everyone I know. Honey Mama’s Nectar Fudge is one of the most delicious treats I have tasted. A friend of my husband’s left a package of Honey Mama’s CocoNoNut Nectar Fudge in our fridge late one night with my name on it – so generous! I was not so generous when it came to sharing it with my husband (something he likes to remind me of every time I stock the fridge with new flavors I haven’t tried). I’m completely addicted.

What’s so great about Honey Mama’s? The top 3 things for me are the healthy ingredients, the unique taste, and the fact that it’s made 3 miles from my own home here in Portland, Oregon.

making

Honey Mama’s Nectar Fudge is made with all organic, raw, and unrefined ingredients: honey, coconut oil, cacao powder, sprouted almonds, and salt. In today’s gluten-free, soy-free, raw food world, many of us have made our own treats with these very same ingredients, but all I can say is, there’s something magic that Honey Mama’s imparts into their mixing bowl that elevates their product into another realm of deliciousness.

Christy Goldsby, the owner and mastermind behind Honey Mama’s, has been engaged in the Portland food scene for over 12 years and is passionate about her product.

Variety-pack

She has tapped a new vein for me in my continual search for gluten-free treat options that stand alone next to my more unwanted cravings for traditional treats like cakes, cookies, and brownies. Apparently, I’m not the only one. Just the other day, I was checking out at our local grocery store and asked the cashier if he had tried Honey Mama’s yet. He said, “Are you kidding? It’s like a cult around here!” Gotta love it.

From Lori’s Notebook

  • Mark’s van der Rohe

It’s not often that the clothing I receive for my memorial quilts so clearly reflects a person’s passion and life work.

  • Louisa’s Eclipse

I believe many of us from a certain generation can relate to having held on to a box of our mother’s or grandmother’s table linens which we don’t have the heart to discard, nor do we want to bust out our irons every time we have a dinner party.

  • A Tartan for Tasmania

After having successfully shipped my most recent quilt all the way to my client Sigrid in Tasmania, I can officially say that my work has made its way across the world.
